On the one hand through recyclable and renewable materials, on the other hand as a weight, scrap and transport reducing manufacturing process. Since the 3D printer only processes the material required for the object, there is almost no waste during printing.
In the 3D printing process, no high-quality material is machined and therefore becomes production waste. No molds and almost no auxiliary materials are necessary. This makes the production of components not only more environmentally friendly, but also more cost-effective due to the lower material consumption.
The unused material powder in the colorjet process and the metal powder of sintering or melting can be almost completely recycled and used for new 3D prints. The decentralized production made possible by 3D printing also reduces the transportation distances required to turn an idea into a product.
